The Secret Recipe
After one week off work, I still feel like hell. I’m sleeping better, getting up less, at night, have more energy during the day, but I haven’t recovered, yet, from a marathon year. I’m a bar older! Some say I look 50. I feel 22. My TCM doc says I’m more like 24, or younger. Age is a number, it’s your biological health that counts. On the other hand, it really looks like we’re going to hell and not in a hand basket but on a Maserati. I want to ditch my ride and fly on a Ducati.
Just joking! I sold my car and left North America for China several years ago. I walk everywhere in my community, which is a resort area where the Black Mountains meet the Yellow Sea at Golden Pebble Beach, or JinShiTan, and I take a commuter train to the closest urban centre for about a buck.
In Jinshitan in the summer, I usually spend a lot of time at the beach, swimming in an Olympic-size pool filled with sea water. It’s a beautiful but unpopular place and I often have the big saltwater pool to myself. This summer, we’ve had a lot of rain and not much su, so the pool hasn’t opened yet.
They’ve spent millions developing the beach, this year, starting with new beach sand, for miles and miles, and moving on to restaurants on the beach. They’re building Xiao Chi Streets, or areas for small vendors selling Chinese snacks, as well as sit-down restaurants right on the beach.
They are developing the hell out of heaven, it looks like, while the rest of the world is struggling while trying to deal with the pandemic during the climate crisis, not to mention the war in Russia.
The war isn’t in Russia, it’s in Ukraine. Russia invaded, expected a quick victory, and was shocked when the Ukraine fought back bravely, with the help of weapons, ammunition, and other aid from the rest of the world.
It looks like Russia will lose the war it started, it will be the end of the old and new USSR, the Ukraine will be the biggest, strongest, country in that region, NATO will be bigger than ever before, and what about China and India? Maybe Russia will be split in three: The West, The East, and The Far East.
Who knows?! Not me!
I have a feeling it’s the end of the new Russian empire and the big country will go down, down, down. It will be more like Canada: a big country with a small population, producing hockey players, other athletes, musicians, and forget about threatening the peace of the rest of the planet. It will be a great place to visit, for travellers, after they shut down the prison system, and the military. Global warming will change Siberia and the rest of northern Russia incredibly.
